I arrived in Kenya at about 3:00 AM this morning after a long delay in the London Heathrow airport. Something on the airplane was broken, they tried and failed to fix it, so they had to find another plane for us. Once they did and we all boarded, the machine that loads the baggage broke and it took another hour to get the luggage loaded! What a trip.
It took me a while to get through immigration, and I wasn't given the visa I expected, so I have some paperwork and hoops to jump through in the next couple weeks to try and get the right visa. Please pray for favor with officials, miraculously fast paperwork, and clear communication of what needs to be done.
Dan, the Bethany area coordinator, collected me and my bags and let me crash in their spare bedroom. We got to the house at about 5:00AM and I slept till around 11:00AM although I could have slept all day. To get over the jet lag from switching time zones so drastically, it's best to force yourself to sleep at the right time even though your body might think it's time to sleep in the afternoon.
I'm glad I'm here. My brain doesn't really know it's true yet, but it'll catch up after I get some more sleep.
I'll keep this one short as I'm probably not thinking clearly enough to say anything significant, and there's not much to say since I've only been here about 10 hours! Thanks for praying and I'll keep you in the loop!
