Yesterday I rearranged the furniture in my room.
This is actually a big deal! The room I call "mine" is actually the "whoever happens to be home for the longest gets this room" room, so it has a conglomeration of my brother's outdoorsy hunting stuff and my weird Africa decorations. I've never really felt settled here, with good reason, but yesterday I decided it was time to at least feel comfortable in my own space. So now the bed is up against the wall and I have a bunch of open floor space...hopefully I don't fill it with clothes and books and junk! haha!
Kind of silly, but I was excited to be in my room last night. It feels fresh and more welcoming to me.
Ok, that's enough about the feng shui. (I had to look up how to spell that!)
This morning I read about Samuel anointing Saul as the first King of Israel. What a sad day for God's people...for God more so, I suppose. "The LORD said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in regard to all that they say to you, for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me from being king over them." (1 Sam 8:7) Ouch. After how he cared for them, brought them out of slavery, fed them with food from heaven, destroyed their enemies, and gave them every single thing he promised...they choose a man for a king.
Samuel tells Saul that he has been anointed a ruler over the Lord's inheritance. YIKES! No pressure, huh? You just get to rule over the Almighty's inheritance, that's all. I'd try to hide from that job too. I'm glad the kingdom that is coming will reestablish God as King over us-his inheritance. Jesus will be an incredible King.

tru dat, sista friend, I'm glad you're feeling settled at home, but don't get too settled, you have to come to MN to visit certain friends of yours! Shucks, we could even go get some pie for old times sake. THough, now you have to buy an entree, I believe. Lame. It was probably because of college students who try to pay with spare change...
